Update...
I haven't really updated lately. I just added a link to a delightful thing on oddee, one of my favorite sites. I'm going to try to make my blog a little more positive (and active). Gary Vee has inspired me to try to be a bit more optimistic. I can't make any guarantees that you'll never see anything depressing on here again (in fact, you probably will), but I'll try to balance it out with something positive.
A few things to say: I added a link to Gary Vaynerchuk's book page on the right...buy it! The man is great! Also, the Lakers play tomorrow (Wednesday) and hopefully will win game 2. Prior to the Lakers game, Barcelona and Manchester United play at 2:45 ET on ESPN2...watch it! Supposedly my boy Bojan is going to be in instead of Henry. Also, Messi is back now so it should be exciting. Finally, I'll end with some sad news. The Dodgers are terrible so far. Andruw Jones should go back to Atlanta and the Dodgers should fire everyone except James Loney, Rafael Furcal, Andre Ethier and Jonathan Broxton.

Girl Dies After Parents Pray Instead of Seeking Help
As much as I hate to link to a Fox News story, I am. I'm all for praying. I think it's a good thing and I hear that people have had some amazing results from it. However, there is no reason not to take your sick child to the doctor! God provided us with a brain and we can use the brain to think through things logically. God has blessed some people with the ability to use their brain towards advancing medicine. Medicine helps people. There is nothing ungodly about medicine. While I believe that God wants to help us and He does, I also think that God wants us to take care of ourselves and each other. I think the reason God gave us the ability to think for ourselves is so that we would actually think. God works through lots of different people, including doctors. Stupid, stupid, stupid. There's a lyric by Rage Against the Machine: "When ignorance reigns life is lost." While in this case life being lost is quite literal, this goes for a lot of areas of life. Don't be stupid. Ignorance is an awful thing. Be educated and help save the planet from falling to pieces.

Aurora Borealis, Witnessed by the Crew of the Space Shuttle
"While docked and onboard the International Space Station, a STS-123 Endeavour crew member captures the glowing green beauty of the Aurora Borealis March 21, 2008. Looking northward across the Gulf of Alaska, over a low pressure area (cloud vortex), the aurora brightens the night sky. This image was taken on March 21, 2008 at 09:08:46 GMT with a 28"
This is bloody brilliant. The Aurora Borealis....also called the Northern Lights. "Aurora" comes from the Roman goddess of dawn. Borealis from the Greek, Boreas, the north wind and bringer cold winter air. There are four Anemoi in Greek mythology: Boreas (the north wind - cold winter air), Notus (the sound wind - storms of late summer and autumn), Zephyrus (the west wind - light spring and early summer breezes) and Eurus (the east wind, not really associated with any of the Greek seasons).
Anyways, Boreas meant "North Wind" and "Devouring One." He's strong, with a violent temper (cold winter air). He's usually shown as an old winged man, sometimes with snakes instead of feet.
Aurora flies across the sky every morning, announcing the arrival of her brother, Sol. Her sister's name is Luna. One myth says that the morning dew is a result of her tears being shed for the death of a son. Four notable sons of hers are Boreas, Notus, Zephyrus and Eurus - also called the Anemoi or winds.

SuperLiga 2008 teams, schedule announced
So immediately after I say that I'm going to mostly be posting sad things, I post this. I couldn't help it though. I'm really excited about it. Hopefully this summer I'll be able to take a drive down to D.C. for the weekend so I can catch Guadalajara destroy D.C. United. That would be nice. I would love to see my boy Omar Bravo before he takes off to Spain (if those rumors are indeed true).

Disabled Pregnant Woman Used As Target Practice
It is a story like this that makes me question my pacifism. The death penalty definitely seems appropriate in this situation. How do I tell myself that these people don't deserve to die? Sure, some people are only pacifists concerning war, but I want to be consistent. This story is awful. These people did an evil thing, but are they actually evil? I'm not sure; I'm not so sure anyone is evil. Calling these people evil is perhaps the easiest thing for us to do however. The truth is that every single one of us is capable of such a thing. There are "extraordinary" people who are able to buck the moral laws that we all follow and go their own way. This isn't a well structured response to this article. I'm sorry. It's truly troubling though.
